On Sunday, I was brainstorming ways to become more productive during the week (Sundays are my motivating days). I don’t know what it is about Sundays but everyone becomes more motivated to attack the week. For example: ever wonder why there are more people in the gym on Monday than there is on Friday?? You guessed it, because its chest day!! Just kidding, but seriously, it’s because everyone gets pumped on Sunday for the upcoming week, however they get burnt out by Wednesday and lose sight of all their goals. So then they have to restart on the next Sunday.
So I recently found a blog about waking up at 4:30am everyday for 21 straight days. For those who don’t know, it takes 21 days to start a new habit! So this past Monday I decided to give it a go. I have been very impressed with the results and it is only day 3. I will say the first day was very tough because I was coming off the weekend so 4:30 on a Monday morning was brutal. However I pushed through the pain of my alarm clock and got out of bed. Made myself a cup of black coffee and did a morning devotional. I am a firm believer in starting the day with a minimum of 1 positive thing to script the rest of your day. So I have been starting with coffee which energizes my mind and my mood, a devotional which energizes my spirit and then I hit the gym which energizes everything else!
Strong leadership begins with how a person feels and if you are weak, tired, cranky, unfocused and unmotivated, the last thing you want to do is lead and influence other people. I will update throughout the week how my progression goes and see if my motivation decreases at all. I will say though the last three days have been very eye opening on how going to bed early and waking up early positively affects your production throughout the day. #21dayearlymorningchallenge
